Service Description

The CRO was contracted to develop analytical methods, qualify/validate analytical methods, and run routine samples.

What Went Well

The CRO was able to hanle changing sample forecasts quite well. The were able to deal with several different challenging types of assays. The CRO was amenable to routine meetings to ensure deliverables did not slip.

What Could Be Improved

Some requests around errors with reporting in reports or in our data analysis system took repeated requests and much longer than desireable. Some of this was due to unclear expectations being set early on. Also, if we could have moved to an FTE model some of the issues likely would have been avoided

Lessons Learned from the Experience

The CRO was good at following instructions from us but did not necessarily provide that outside the box thinking. Often times it would be easier to get the work done internally but it was not possible due to internal restrictions. In the future, we should set up a point of contact from our organization that can more carefully manage CRO deliverables.
