Phase I safety study in healthy volunteers, where Quest provided all the laboratory results

What Went Well

Quest provided good input during and after the RFP stage on the study design phase related to laboratory services, they specifically advised on assays that we must have and what we could do without when we need to reduce the budget. They were able to provide a solution to lower cost for overnight/weekend analysis, necessary for a safety study.

What Could Be Improved

The proposal and contracting process was a bit drawn out and required various revisions. It appeared as they weren't reviewing the specifications carefully or following the directions, when the other providers were!

Lessons Learned from the Experience

We ended up picking this vendor because of their ability to do "outside the box" thinking and leveraging their expertise, ability to do various types of assays, etc. in a cost efficient manner. However, their proposal/contracting process also needs to become efficient so client don't get discouraged.
