Service Description

Covance was contracted to perform a 28-day GLP toxicology study for a clinical candidate in the neurosciences therapeutic area. The study was performed in rats and cyno monkeys. The study involved formulation preparation and dose analysis, all in-life services, and complete data analysis and reporting.

What Went Well

Covance was very responsive and accommodating to our changing schedule. There was a delay in drug availability that required delaying the start of the study. Once the study was underway, everything went very smoothly. This is also a result of our ongoing preferred provider relationship in which both parties understand each other's needs.

What Could Be Improved

There were no significant issues that needed to be improved. As mentioned previously, there was a delay in drug availability, but Covance was flexible to work with us and modify the schedule. There were a few minor communication issues during the study, but this is not unexpected during the course of the study; these issues were rectified without significant impact.

Lessons Learned from the Experience

There were no significant challenges or lessons learned. Covance is a very experienced service provider, with a lot of experience and expertise. We use them as an ongoing preferred provider. This project reinforced that Covance is a capable provider that is flexible and willing to work with the client, and ultimately deliver a successful project.
