Service Description

Medpace were contracted to undertake a large phase 2 study in severe skin infections. Thet were asked to provide 'full service' from input into the protocol to results analysis and report. Over 20 sites were recruited and managed successfully

What Went Well

Medpace provided by inputting into the design of the trial in a very interactive way. Throughout the trial they were transparent in what they did such that we were able to follow interactively at all stages. They were very accessible for queries and discussions and provided us with a lot of help.

What Could Be Improved

It is very difficult to say where their service could be improved. Certain issues arose at the study sites but these were handled excellently by the Medpace staff. One investigator enfringed GCP and another falsifed PK samples but that was handled very well by Medpace. So there were issues but they were easily resolved.

Lessons Learned from the Experience

The choice of a CRO is very important. You need to choose one that fits your needs and which you can trust. They rose to all the challenges and because of some of the issues had to think innovatively. I would say they actaully surpassed expectations. I have worked withother CROs previously and expected more issues in the work we did with Medpace. They showed medical expertise, good assessment skills. energy and delivery (ahead fo schedule).
