Service Description

Covance provided a service involving single and repeat dosing in animals. The service also provided study protocols and study reports.

What Went Well

Covance provided excellent service with regards to what was requested. They provided a study director that was knowledgeable, attentive, and proactive. There were no problems with in-life dosing, as the technicians were well trained, even with some of our special instructions on blood collection. Covance had a good turnaround time of protocol development and finalization, in-life start, as well as study report draft and finalization.

What Could Be Improved

Covance's prices have always been on the higher side, as they provide services, such as program management. They could be a one-stop-shop CRO. Their study start dates also takes quite a bit of time, as we had to wait to start the study a full month. Also, their invoice turnaround time is very slow.

Lessons Learned from the Experience

Covance's study director provided some good suggestions when it comes to how the study was to proceed. We reviewed the data and he gave very good rationale as to what the NOEL and NOAEL should be.
