Service Description

WuXi was asked to execute the synthesis of a lead compound for our inflammation research area. WuXi was responsible for delivering the finished goods that passs pre-determined specifications.

What Went Well

1. WuXi did a good job on delivering on time; 2. The project team manager at WuXi was very responsive and flexibile; 3. When we need to expand the scope of the work in the middle of the work, WuXi came up with resources and handled it effectively so that all were delivered per the original timeline.

What Could Be Improved

1. Physical properties of the batches produced over time did not seem consistent. 2. Seems to lack capability and knowhow to execute certain desired analytical test on the finished goods. 3. Execution of the synthetic routes did not seem consistent.

Lessons Learned from the Experience

1. Be very very specific with the contract as to what you need the CRO to do; 2. Timely communication is the key. 3. Build trusting relationship with the CRO can have a long-term benefit overall.
