Work with CROs that have proven expertise.
Date: May 2, 2014
Service Description
PPD was hired to put together a pk, tolerability and efficacy study design for a pediatric study involving very young hypertensive patients, as well as the performance of a feasibility assessment for the same study
What Went Well
PPD was on time even though the timeframe was extremely tight. PPD had enough expertise to deal with all aspects of the study. PPD on the top of being available, was flexible enough to answer all our questions.
What Could Be Improved
PPD could be more focused on the needs identified as primary from our side instead of dealing with every aspect of the study as per their standard operating procedure (and put a little less 'pressure' in trying to persuade us to broaden the consultancy service provided).
Lessons Learned from the Experience
The lesson learned is that we need to involve CROs with proven expertise in the area, and be very specific and firm on what we need from them.
